A Day trip to Luss - Enjoying the Scottish Scenery

by - July 25, 2018

Seeing as the UK have had one of the best summers in a long time and the sun continues to shine, I decided it was about time I took advantage of some of the gorgeous towns and locations Scotland has to offer. I came to Luss on a works trip and instantly fell in love with how quaint and gorgeous the area was, so of course I had to come back a few days later with some friends...

It really is beautiful and has something for everyone, whether you want to get involved in some of the water sports, or just take a picnic and relax on the beach or grass, it is stunning and I just couldn't resist writing up about my experience!

The beach was small and quaint, and was the perfect place to either relax with kids, tire your dogs, or to simply relax. The views are absolutely gorgeous and when the weather is as good as it has been, is similar to being somewhere abroad (but with much less travel time)

Their are a few piers too to get right out amongst the water and take in the views. Speed boats, Banana Boats, Kayaks, Canoes and Pedal Boats are also on offer if you want to get out onto the loch and take in the views properly!

Being someone who likes to go for walks, their really isn't anywhere better than Luss. Full of little streets and walkways, you can walk for hours and come across some nice little shops and eateries, as well as the gorgeous church which sits up a small incline, nevertheless is a beautiful building. It is definitely a thing to see if you are into your history.

Both days when we went, it was super busy, with it being the height of summer and with the schools being off, however their were plenty of parking spaces for cars coaches and taxis, so it is never going to be a concern when you visit. Their was also 2 little shops at the car park to that sold snacks and ice creams, one of which also done hot food too, so perfect for a pit stop to get your energy back....

With all the walkways around Luss, their was plenty of other shops and restaurants along the way, so their were plenty of places to take a break and enjoy the views, no matter where you decide to venture too....

This year, especially with this good weather, I really wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous Scottish scenery and visit some more local areas, something which often (because of the rain prone weather we often suffer from here in Scotland) is not easy to do! I loved Luss, and really can't wait to try some more places over the rest of our Summer!

Never under estimate your local area and ensure you take the time to venture to some of your local towns, their are some beautiful little villages around that often go amiss.
